In 2017, Al Jazeera produced the film ‘Guatemala’s Disappeared’ as part of their Fault Lines series. It still resonates today especially with the current hearing into the Diario Militar case. The film features the work of the Guatemalan Forensic Anthropology Foundation (FAFG) and the Association of Relatives of the Detained-Disappeared of Guatemala (FAMDEGUA).
Referring to the case of the CREOMPAZ military case, the defendants and their, very powerful, supporters continue to build in delays and obstructions in the search for justice for the disappeared.
This video was also included in Sandra Cuffe’s recent piece in Al Jazzera here, ‘Huge step’: Relatives of Guatemala disappeared hope for justice.
